The monastery, dating back to the 12th century has been meticulously restored using traditional building methods and all original materials and is known as The Tuscan Renaissance Centre.

Artist, Metka Skrobar

The Artist - Metka Skrobar

You will be tutored by Metka Skrobar, an accomplished Australian artist, who has been painting professionally since 1982. Metka is an established water colourist and has conducted many art workshops throughout Australia.

Originally from Slovenia, Metka travels to Europe regularly and has participated in many exhibitions in Slovenia, Italy and Austria. Metka has recently returned from Tuscany with new inspiration to share with her students. Visit Metka's website at www.metkaart.info.

Art Workshop Details - Autumn Magic in the hills of Tuscany

Draw inspiration from this once in a life time opportunity to paint and capture the essence of the enchanting region of Chianti in Tuscany. This magical time of year represents the harvest time and the splendour of autumnal rich colours of red and gold.

This unique workshop, carefully designed by Metka, caters for both the beginner to advanced artist. Metka is an accomplished Australian artist and a sought after tutor. You will find Metka's dynamic yet gentle and relaxed teaching style both inspirational and enjoyable.

She has chosen the medium of Watercolour because it represents the free spirited individual and its ease of application. You will be experimenting and having fun with this medium which will allow you to discover its versatility and its many dimensions. It is a magical medium that can be transparent, free flowing and spontaneous in character .It can be used alone or with other mediums such as inks, pastels and rice paper.

In this workshop, there will be a comfortable balance between sketching and recording on location with pen and wash and working on a larger format with mixed media and collage in the studio.

The workshop times will provide ample opportunity for demonstrations, individual instruction, discussions and critique sessions.

The subject matter will range from Landscape, Still Life and Florals which will allow for experimentation and an opportunity to create individual styles filled with various forms of texture and luminous bright colours of Autumn.
